End of School

We are winding down to the last few days of our studies in Photography and are about ready to go out on our own. As the elder statesman of the group, I would like to give some advise. This is not an original thought of mine, so maybe it is good advise. What ever you decide to do in life, it may be photography or working at Wal-Mart or something in between. Find something that you enjoy getting up every day and doing.

This is a shot of my favorite subjects (grand kids).

Last Four Weeks

Well, we are getting down to the last four weeks of class, and everyone is busy trying to complete their portfolio's. This will be the last project of our training. I am proud of my classmates. I think that they have all turned out to be really good photographers. Each one has their own individual styles. I am attaching a couple of shots that I wanted to include in my portfolio but our instructor said no. One is a self portrait that I thought brought out the real me and the other is of one of my classmates, at the zoo, who momentarily thought that he was the crocodile hunter.

PPA Arizonia

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am a photography student. One of the highlights of the past two years has been a trip some of us made to a Professional Photographers of America convention, as volunteers, in Phoenix AZ. It was a great trip and I would like to share some of the pictures I took along the way.

On Sat. 6/12/09, I went to a Revolutionary Battle reenactment in Lincolnton, NC. Here are a few of the shots I took.

Face Painting

I had a little fun last night photographing some kids that my wife was face painting at church. This is a shot of my grandson Matt.

Well, here goes my first try at blogging. I am just starting my last class in my quest to become an educated photographer, before I just did it for fun. In some ways it seems like it has been a long two years, but I have enjoyed almost every minute. I will be talking more about my hopes and dreams in future blogs, but for now, this is about all.
